What is meditation?
Well, meditation can be different depending on the individual. However, most meditative goals are focused on relaxation, focus and clarity. Oftentimes, though, meditation can be used as a tool for self exploration and insight.
This meditation will focus on forgiveness and personal power. personal power is rooted in establishing self confidence and personal strength, not power over others. By offering self forgiveness, we can often open doors to step further into our own personal power.
Of course, this is not a practice that is completed overnight, but rather a lifelong journey. Perhaps this meditation is the first step. Begin by finding a comfortable space free from distractions. This meditation can be done sitting or lying down.
So take a moment to get comfortable and take any last movements you may need before finding stillness. One still begin to feel yourself connected to the earth beneath you. begin to notice the sensation of being connected or rooted to the earth.
Begin to bring your awareness to the breath and simply notice the breath the pace, temperature and quality.
Then begin to deepen the breath. Inhale, feel the belly rise. Exhale, the belly falls. Inhale, belly rises. Exhale, belly falls. In inhale, belly rises. Exhale, belly falls. Inhale, fill the belly, lungs.
Exhale, the lungs, the belly.
Inhale the belly, lungs, throat.
Exhale, the throat, lungs, belly.
Inhale 123, exhale 321. Inhale 123, exhale 321. Inhale 123, exhale 321.
Continue this three part breath at your own pace. Following the gentle rise and fall of the body.
Begin to bring your awareness to the belly. Perhaps you even place both hands on the belly. This space here is your solar plexus. chakra, also known as the money pora, chakra, in Sanskrit, the solar plexus chakra is associated with our identity, will, vitality, confidence, and personal power?
Begin to imagine, yellow light here in the abdomen is the light, bright, or dim, large or small. Simply notice this yellow light. As life ebbs and flows, we all have moments of feeling down on ourselves, or being self critical. B
egin to reflect on a time, maybe even right now, when you have felt critical of yourself How did you feel in that moment? Did you forgive yourself for being self critical? Begin to reflect on a time when a friend was being critical of themselves. How did you react? Did you shower them with love, reassurance and praise? Would you do the same for yourself? Begin to imagine the yellow light in your belly is getting a little brighter and bigger.
Extending forgiveness outwards forgiveness to others forgiveness to yourself. As this space of confidence and personal power shines. Perhaps you shower yourself with love, reassurance and praise.
Maybe even repeating the mantra out loud or in your head. I forgive myself I am confident I step into my personal power. I forgive myself I am confident I step into my personal power. I forgive myself I am confident I step into my personal power.
Begin to deepen the breath coming back into your space. Begin to bring small movements to the ankles, wrists, fingers and toes. As you begin to come back to your body. Take a moment to reflect on your meditation and how forgiveness particular particularly self forgiveness can be a doorway to your personal power.
As you end your meditation practice today. I invite you to remember the bright yellow light in your belly. Extending warmth and radiance everywhere you go.
